Printing process

Paper is punched for color registration.

A polyester screen is blocked out for each color to be screened.

The screen is blocked out by hand with a clay-based liquid to close up areas which do not print in that color.

The acrylic screenprinting ink is printed with a rubber squeegee onto the dry paper.

Prints are hung to dry.

Ink is rolled onto the maple block which has the key (detailed) image cut into it.

Paper is dampened before printing.

The paper is placed over the inked block.

It goes through the press under pressure.

The finished print is removed.
